The American Silver Eagles were the first US produced silver bullion coins. Following Mexico's lead of the silver Libertad, the US desired to mint their own silver coin that carried an actual legal tender value, which would be backed by the US government. Coin collectors were ecstatic to see a beautifully struck coin that also contain an intrinsic value. When the Proof Silver Eagle followed shortly after, collectors were in awe of this newly minted coin with a mirrored finish. With lower mintages than the brilliant uncirculated versions, the Proof Silver Eagles caught investors' attention as well.
Your Certified Proof Silver Eagle 2004 PF70 NGC has a weight and silver content backed by the US government.
