With the lowest mintage of the series, the 1928 Peace silver dollar is one of 360,649 minted by the Philadelphia Mint. Due to its incredibly low mintage, the 1928 Peace dollar was heavily circulated, making higher conditions scarcer in the coin market. The Peace dollar's production also momentarily ceased in 1928, making the year a prime date for collectors. The Peace silver dollar was the first US coin to commemorate the peace acquired from World War I. Although Congress just wanted to continue using the Morgan silver dollar design, numismatists lobbied for a more appropriate and fitting design. Your 1928 Peace silver dollar was minted at the first mint facility in history and is in almost uncirculated condition. Dollars that are considered to be AU, generally have slight worn edges and images but the original mint luster is still apparent.
