The Silver Eagle's mintage varies year to year, thus increasing its numismatic value. But since it is also considered a minted coin that weighs one troy ounce of .999 pure silver, its intrinsic value is also increased. Another plus when owning proof silver eagles is the lower mintage of the proof coins versus their BU counterpart. The Proof Silver Eagle series has slowly increased in popularity, since its debut date of 1986. Reigning as the top best seller of silver bullion, among investors and collectors, the Proof Silver Eagles become even more valuable once they have been certified. Many investors also enjoy the added value of a numismatic coin to the precious price of silver.
Your 2012 American Silver Eagle comes in a solid plastic holder, issued by NGC, and sports the label with that highly sought after grade of PF69.

-Obverse: The obverse features Lady Liberty in all her splendor. She gracefully walks the earth with a lightweight robe and the American flag draped around her boney shoulders. The obverse also bears the stamp with the words, "Liberty," "In God We Trust," and the coin's date of mintage.
-Reverse: The reverse is stamped with the coin's purity and weight for authentication purposes. The US National Seal is also featured on the reverse as a large eagle. The large eagle has widespread wings with the banner labeled, "E pluribus unum," going across them. The eagle's talons are each holding something: the left is holding arrows and the right is clenching an olive branch. There is also a large shield covering the eagle's puffed chest and 13 stars above the eagle's head as a nod to the original 13 colonies.
