Much gratitude can be shown to the Mexican government, whose minting of the Silver Libertad spurred other countries to also produce their version of a pure silver dollar. For the US, the Proof Silver Eagle displays much of the history of the US and is the perfect way to mark a special occasion for loved ones. The US Coat of Arms, the Walking Liberty, and the 13 stars to symbolize the original 13 colonies are just a few reasons why the Proof Silver Eagle isn't just about the silver but the history that comes along with it. The Proof Silver Eagle series is also competitive in its production, minting much less compared to the BU eagles. When a Proof Silver Eagle is certified, the most ideal grade it can receive is a PF70.
Your Certified Proof Silver Eagle 2008 PF70 NGC is backed by the US government and is guaranteed to weigh one ounce of .999 silver. In addition to the outstanding purity and proof finish, your coin is also encased in an official NGC holder that will preserve your coin for years to come.
Coin Highlights
-.999 fine silver
-PF70 grade
-NGC certified coin holder
-Obverse: The obverse previews the Lady Liberty, gracefully draped in a flowing gown and an American flag hung over her shoulders. The obverse also bears the words, "Liberty," "In God We Trust," and the date of mintage of the coin.
-Reverse: The US National seal is on the reverse of every silver eagle to date. The seal consists of a large eagle with wings outspread and the infamous saying, "E pluribus unum," written on a banner. Each of the eagle's talons are holding something; the right is clenching a single olive branch to represent a peaceful nation, while the other is holding exactly 13 arrows as a respect to the original 13 colonies. The coin's weight and purity is also stamped on the reverse.
