1972-S 40% Silver Eisenhower Dollar Roll BU

After uprooting its metallic composition, for all its coins, the US Mint was forced to decrease the amount of silver used in coins. With domestic silver increasing every minute, the US Mint couldn't afford to make their coins out of 90% silver anymore. The Eisenhower dollar's composition was a large disagreement and the settlement landed on only the collectible Eisenhower dollars containing just 40% silver. The San Francisco Mint was the only US Mint branch to produce the silver Eisenhower dollars, making them a more collectible commodity. The 1972-S Eisenhower Dollar Roll contains 20 coins with 40% silver and comes in a plastic tube. The San Francisco Mint has been in business for over 150 years, maintaining high quality control over the production of all its coins.
