Its mintage significantly larger than its San Francisco counterpart, the 1924 Peace silver dollar offers collectors a variety of grades and conditions. Minted at the first mint facility, in the US, the 1924 Peace dollar carries no mint-mark, signifying its place of mintage is the Philadelphia Mint. Used for centuries as a face of liberty, the Goddess of Liberty featured on the Peace silver dollar, has been on currency since the Roman Empire. When it was decided that the Morgan silver dollar's design would continue on the new silver dollars in 1921, numismatists from all over lobbied for a more patriotic symbol. Liberty's face was inspired by the warrior Liberty that stands in New York's harbor, depicted as more fierce than a pretty face. Your 1924 Peace dollar roll contains 20 specimens in a plastic tube, all of which are considered to be in BU condition. Since BU condition greatly varies for the silver dollars, your roll may be compromised of grades MS60-MS65.
