Nicknamed the "Crescent City," the New Orleans Mint served three masters at one point in time: the US, the state of Louisiana, and the Confederacy. The New Orleans Mint, served as a branch of the US Mint from 1838-1861, then again from 1879-1909. Unfortunately, the bulk of the New Orleans Mint's production was the Morgan silver dollar, and when the Morgan's production ceased, it took the Old Mint down with it shortly after. The Old Mint still stands today, marked as one of the oldest historical landmarks in the US. Your 1884-O roll of Morgan silver dollars come in brilliant uncirculated condition, with few bag marks and a gleaming luster from one side of the coin to the other. All Morgan rolls are packaged in plastic tubes that fit 20 coins. It is recommended to store your BU Morgans in an airtight container, to protect them from tarnishing and scratching.
