Presidential Dollars Martin Van Buren 2008-D 25 pcs (Roll)

In honoring the 8th president of the United States, the Presidential Dollar series features Martin Van Buren on the obverse of the 2008-D dollar. Martin Van Buren was a member of the Democratic party and served in a variety of senior roles. He was both the Vice President and Secretary of State under Andrew Jackson, before he earned the title of President. Van Buren was admired for interacting with all walks of life; not based on social, financial, or ethnic status. It has been said of the 8th president, that he could easily dress up for a fundraiser and still become lost in a crowd in a local saloon. Van Buren reached people in ways other presidents never even tried to do. Unfortunately, Van Buren goes down in history for his inability to handle the Panic of 1837. This panic was a major economical depression that would take years to alleviate and wouldn't be solved under his presidency.

The Presidential Dollar series is a favorite among collectors, due to its honorable history and stunning golden hue. Comprised of a copper and manganese brass alloy, the Presidential Dollar series follows the footsteps of the Sacagawea Dollar with its unique golden color. Don Everhart, an engraver for the mint, designed Martin Van Buren's portrait for the obverse of this dollar. Van Buren's years in office are also included on the obverse of the 2008-D dollar. The reverse features the Statue of Liberty, as well as the coin's legal tender value of $1. The Denver Mint delicately places its "D" mint-mark on the rim of the dollar, along with the coin's date of mintage. The Denver Mint places 25 coins in a roll and the coins are in perfect brilliant uncirculated condition. It also cannot be guaranteed that this roll will come in original packaging.
