Because the Carson City US Mint sector was so small, it could only mint so many coins at once. Any Morgan with the "CC" mint-mark is naturally part of a lower mintage. Apart from Carson City, Morgan silver dollars were minted in other sectors as well. Those minted in Philadelphia do not carry a mint mark, wherein ones minted in New Orleans or San Francisco carry a "S," or "O," mint mark. To this day, the most adored mint-mark is that of Carson City, Nevada. Your 1882-CC silver dollar was minted in Carson City and features that advantageous mint-mark. This mint-mark is what many Morgan collectors look for when trying to complete a collection. This 1882-CC Morgan is in very fine condition, containing noticeable amounts of wear around Lady Liberty's facial features and the eagle's feathers on the reverse. Only 1.1 million of these coins were minted, making them that much harder to find!
