One aspect of owning one hundred year old coins is the history that comes along with the collection. Morgans especially carry so much weight in history, as much as they do in value. Lady Liberty's side facial profile is what one first notices on the obverse of the Morgan. The Lady is an iconic symbol to US and is always portrayed on the official silver dollars. The eagle is also important, since it has represented power and authority in the US for hundreds of years as well. When one collects a Morgan, they might not realize the work it took to actually get the Morgans minted. Between several bills trying to regulate the silver production of the US Mint then those same bills were repealed, the Morgan had a short minted life. The Morgan was in circulation from 1878 to 1904, then again in 1921 before it was overtaken by the Peace dollar.
