Your 1890 Morgan Silver Dollar was minted by the Philadelphia sector of the US Mint and carries no mint-mark underneath the eagle's tail feathers. It contains 90% silver, 10% copper, and weighs 26.73 grams. Its diameter is 38.1, its in brilliant uncirculated condition, and it comes close to a MS63. Your Morgan will come packaged in a coin flip for protection in transit. The Morgan silver dollar was born in 1878, when assistant engraver of the US Mint designed the coin. This assistant engraver would become Chief engraver 40 years later, George T. Morgan. Morgan grew up learning the ins and outs of engraving coins in England then he moved his talents to the US, where the Mint picked him up. He was also responsible for other coin's designs, such as the Columbian Exposition half dollar. But the Morgan was his namesake and what he became famous for.
