Morgan Silver Dollar G-VG 1902-S

The San Francisco Mint is famous for its excellently precise strike and flawless luster finish on the Morgan silver dollars. It is a well known fact that any Morgan minted at the San Francisco Mint is popular among collectors because of the high-quality coin with the low price tag. Due to millions of BU Morgans being stored in the US Treasury, instead of being melted like the others, finding circulated versions of the 1902-S a difficult task but the better conditions are plentiful. The lower grade 1902-S Morgans are more difficult to find, thus they contain a higher premium over the higher grades for this year. The 1902-S Morgan is in good-very good condition and exhibits a very worn and smooth surface but the date is still readable. This is a very rare case of a circulated coin possessing higher value over the nicer condition coins.
