The reason why every Morgan collector is after any Morgan with the "CC" mint-mark is because only 2% of the Morgan production occurred at the Carson City Mint in Nevada! The small size of the Nevada mint naturally led to lower minted coins. Carson City also shut down before the Morgan silver dollar finished its run as the official US dollar, creating an even smaller amount of Morgans to hunt down and collect. Collectors are usually less picky about the condition of the Carson City Morgans, since so few of them are still available. Your 1880-CC was minted at the US Mint in Carson City and carries the beloved mint mark "CC." As a coin in fine condition, you will notice heavy wear on the entire surface of the coin and the image detail is very smooth, due to the abrasion.
