The Morgan had a very controversial run as the US silver dollar. It competed with bills that were passed to regulate the amount of silver being mined and minted into coins. It also competed with other moments in history as well. In 1903, Panama was declaring independence from Colombia, the first transatlantic radio broadcast between the US and England was made, and the first modern World Series was played in Pittsburgh. Your 1903 Morgan has been minted in Philadelphia, carries no mint mark, and is in extra fine condition. The Philadelphia Mint is the oldest mint in the US, being established in 1792. After the ratification of the Constitution, the Founding Fathers needed to establish a national identity and a means of commerce. At the time, Philadelphia was the capital of the US so it only made sense for the first mint to be built there.
