Aside from all of the special variety Morgan Silver dollars that are offered from 1878, the cream of the crop is always Morgans minted at Carson City, Nevada. Since this sector of the US Mint was much smaller than other mints, the coins minted there naturally carry a lower mintage. Being the first year of mintage for the Morgan silver dollar, this Carson City Morgan is what is standing between loyal collectors finishing their collection. This Morgan is in Extra Fine condition with possible wear, especially around Lady Liberty's cheeks, hair, and ear. The eagle, located on the reverse, also shows wear on its feathers. Morgans that are in extra fine condition also have minimal mint luster and are actually one of the more popular conditions for Morgan collectors. The overall condition of the coin is still sharp but the premium is more appealing than the higher conditions.
