George T. Morgan created the design for the Morgan silver dollar, showing yet another side to the Lady we all know and love. On his coins, Lady Liberty is placed and posed at an angle familiar of a portrait done of someone in power, like the president or Queen Elizabeth II. Your 1897-S Morgan is considered to be almost uncirculated condition, with about 3/4 of the original mint luster still in tact and carries the "S" mint-mark. Since each Morgan also contains 90% silver, they are also an investment, along with being a collectible coin.
