Morgan silver dollar collectors not only respect the value of the Morgan but also how it came to be. The Morgan was in production from 1878-1904. It was the first silver dollar to be minted after the Seated Liberty dollar. The government tried to regulate the silver production by passing laws that gave the US Mint amounts and deadlines that needed to be met. After 1904, the Morgan was reauthorized for production for one more year but fell victim to an up and coming silver dollar, the Peace dollar. Your 1891-O Morgan was minted in New Orleans and has been assigned the fine grade of MS63. PCGS isn't as well known as NGC but it also has a reputable reputation among collectors, dealers, and mints all over the US. Although PCGS shares the same grading style as NGC, their packaging is quite different. PCGS packages their coins in bluish clear holders that fit perfectly in specialized storage boxes.
