This Morgan was minted at the first ever mint facility in the US! The Coinage Act of 1792 announced the creation of the Philadelphia Mint, due to the Founding Father's desire to establish a means of international commerce. The Mint Act was passed shortly after, giving guidelines to the currency about to be produced. The Mint Act instituted a decimal system based on a dollar unit, the coins had to specify its metallic composition and fineness. It was also required that each US currency coin should present "an impression emblematic of liberty." Your 1889 Morgan has been graded by NGC and awarded the ideal grade of MS64. The Morgan comes in a variety of grades and even in those grades, there are more grades. For instance, your coin is considered to be in brilliant uncirculated condition and it could have earned any grace between MS60-MS70. Since most Morgans were circulated at one point or kept in bags in the Treasury, it is hard to find a Morgan with a MS65 and above grade.
