The Australian Silver Koala series are all .999 fine silver and come packaged in clear mint sealed capsules for protection. The coin's condition is considered to be brilliant uncirculated but it also contains proof-like traits, causing the condition of the coin to be a harmonious combination of both. The mintages are kept at a minimum each year, usually ranging from 300,000 to 400,000. Many collectors like to begin their collection with the silver Koala since it comes from such a reputable mint, who promises excellent quality along with intensely creative designs to keep collectors coming back for more.
The 2011 Silver Koala's reverse design premieres two koalas, enjoying the scenery high up in the trees. By the size of the koalas, it looks like it is a mother and baby koala pictured. Female koalas give birth to the joeys when they are still in their embryonic stage and they grow in their mother's pouch for 12 months. This joey that is depicted on the coin must be an older baby, getting ready to brave the world on its own. The coin's name, date of mintage, and weight/purity are written on the outer rim of the coin. Turning the coin over to the obverse side, a lovely portrait of Queen Elizabeth II is featured in all of her splendor. The Queen is realistically depicted, with her age and maturity celebrated with specific lines and shading. Her hair is tight with curls and graced with a delicate crown. Her lips give off a gentle and welcoming smirk, while she still stands powerful and brace. The coin's place of mintage and the coin's legal tender value are also included on the obverse of the coin. The silver Koala series is the ideal coin collection you want to start for yourself or someone you know who is interested in investing.
