When the Morgan silver dollar was being produced, there was a lot of silver being mined then quickly turned into coins. The US called on four mints to help with the production of the Morgan silver dollar: the Philadelphia Mint, the New Orleans Mint, the San Francisco Mint, and the Carson City Mint. Also known as the Old Mint, the New Orleans Mint proudly served as a branch of the US Mint from 1838-1861, then again from 1879-1909. While the Morgan silver dollar was in production, the New Orleans Mint was able to stay in business since it relied on the Morgan silver dollar production. Unfortunately, the Morgan's production ceased in 1904 and the New Orleans Mint was decommissioned shortly after. Your 1885-O roll of Morgan silver dollars is considered to be in brilliant uncirculated condition, exhibiting the original mint luster from 1885. Your Morgans are packaged in a plastic tube of 20 coins and safety for delivery is ensured.
