The Bavarian State Mint in Munich is actually responsible for the remarkable coin series that is getting universal attention. The Somalian Elephant 2014 silver coin commemorates the astounding yet endangered, gentle beasts as they roam free in the African plains. The coin is in a clean and crisp brilliant uncirculated condition but presents proof-like qualities as well. Every year, the silver coin's reverse design changes but the obverse stays the same.
Three elephants are pictured on the reverse of this pure silver bullion coin. The elephants have been finished with a frosted-matte finish, while the background is not matte but proof-like. The words, "African Wildlife Elephant," and "1 oz Ag .999" are inscribed around the outer rim of the coin. Ag is the chemical symbol for silver that is commonly used in Europe. The coin's obverse displays the coat of arms that is known in German culture as "heraldry." The Somalian Republic combines two coat of arms, facing each other, as their heraldic symbol. "Somali Republic," the year of mintage, "2014," and the coin's monetary value, "100 shillings," are neatly engrossed on this side of the coin as well. Due to a low mintage, the Somalian Elephant silver coins are hard to keep in inventory and replace. Most silver investors, who buy silver online, like to add the Somalian Elephant to their collection just because of the beautiful and honorary design of the great elephant.
