This design has resurrected the Walking Liberty half dollar design, which was in circulation in 1916-1947. The Walking Liberty was originally designed by German American sculptor, Adolph A. Weinman. Weinman's artwork has become a major part of US history and can be seen sprinkled throughout the US nowadays.
