The San Francisco Mint saw the Morgan's last year of production through, maintaining the better-made quality than the other mints. The San Francisco Mint was first established in 1854, in order to serve the famous gold mine rushes. In just its first year alone, the San Fran Mint made over $4 million dollars worth of gold into coins. Immediately, this mint had to open a second location, which has been assigned the nick-name the Granite Lady. The Granite Lady wasn't totally made of granite but it survived the 1906 earthquake, deeming it a strong structure ever since. Being the last Morgan minted with the "S" mint-mark, the 1904-S is among the list of key coins for collectors. With only just 2.3 million made, this Morgan minted at the San Francisco Mint is becoming more difficult to find. Your 1904-S Morgan is considered to be in very fine condition.
