Ever since the minting mistakes of 1878, when the Morgan silver dollar first took off, these mishaps have been viewed as valuable to collectors. The 1900 O over CC is among the list of highly sought after "mistake" Morgans. Once the Carson City Mint went out of business in 1893, the "left-over" Morgans were sent to the Philadelphia mint.
