Morgan Silver Dollar Uncirculated 1902-S

Your 1902-S Morgan was minted in San Francisco and carries the "S" mint mark. The mint-mark can be seen on the reverse of the Morgan, underneath the eagle's tail feathers. Your Morgan is considered to be brilliantly uncirculated and is protected in a coin flip. This flip is only meant for temporary use and it is recommended that your coin to be moved to a speciality folder, similar to the Dansco albums we sell in Coin Supplies. The government had a difficult time regulating the purchasing of silver during the heavily mining years. During the Morgan dollar's reign, there were numerous bills passed then repealed fighting for the continuation of minting silver dollars but to also keep track of it. It wasn't until 1918 that the reauthorization of the minting and mining of silver coins was passed and in 1921, the Morgan was produced for the last time.
