Morgan silver dollars were minted in numerous different sectors of the US Mint back in 1878. Those minted in Philadelphia do not carry a mint mark, wherein ones minted in New Orleans or San Francisco carry a "S," or "O," mint mark. Your 1882-CC silver dollar was minted in Carson City, Nevada, and is considered a highly sought after coin by many collectors. Even the Carson City coins with higher mintages are harder to find, just because they carry the CC mintmark. All Morgan silver dollars weigh 26.73 grams, just shy of a troy ounce at 31.10 grams, and their diameter is 38.1 millimeters. Your 1878-CC Morgan is in brilliant uncirculated condition, revealing a sheen circulated coins do not have. BU Morgans also should have minimal to none when it comes to the wear on the obverse. To protect this luster, we package your Morgan in a coin flip during shipment.
