Engravers are just as important to the coin's overall worth as their mintage and condition are. George T. Morgan designed the Morgan in his first year at the US Mint. Morgan's design depicts Lady Liberty in a different way that is unusual for her portrait. On other coins in circulation, the Lady Liberty is shown from head to toe, her slender body in full view. But Morgan's take was of her beautiful face and at a side angle, he respectively portrays her features as delicate and lovely. The beloved sayings, "In God We Trust," and "E Pluribus Unum," are also included on the Morgan Silver dollars. Your 1879-O Morgan was minted in New Orleans, carries the "O" mint-mark on the reverse side of the coin. Your Morgan is in good-very good condition, with heavy wear and lending to a smooth surface. Although much of the original sharpness is gone, the date is still readable and the image details are still noticeable.
