The 1903-O has become a rare find in the circulated coins range. Before 1962, the 1903-O was deemed one of the rarest Morgans ever minted. Then, bags of 1903-O Morgans in Mint State condition flooded into the Philadelphia mint raising the mintage of the Morgans. What was once thought of as a low minted coin is now easily found and the Morgans with a lower grade, are more sought after than the higher grades. Every collector should take advantage of purchasing a coin with a nice grade at a very low rate! The New Orleans Mint saw the production of the Morgan silver dollar through, before being decommissioned in 1909. The New Orleans Mint became a National Historic Landmark and a few other things once it was no longer a mint. It has been an assay office, fallout shelter, and a storage facility for the US Coast Guard.
