Only 400,000 Morgan Silver dollars were produced in 1895 at the San Francisco Mint! At almost uncirculated condition, this Morgan is available at such an achievable price! The Morgan was the silver dollar in circulation from 1878-1904, then again in 1921. Due to the passage of the Coinage Act of 1873, the Seated Liberty dollar's production was ceased. The Morgan silver dollar became the first standard silver dollar minted since the Seated Liberty. It earned the name, Morgan, in honor of the English United States Mint engraver, George T. Morgan. Morgan was responsible for other designs too, such as the Columbian Exposition half dollar. Your 1895-S Morgan contains the beloved "S" mint-mark on the reverse of the coin. All almost uncirculated coins will contain bag marks or surface abrasions and three quarters of the original luster is still present.
