With only 110,000 made, the 1894 Morgan silver dollar is one of America's most collected and famous silver dollar. The Morgan was the silver dollar in circulation from 1878-1904, then again in 1921. Due to the passage of the Coinage Act of 1873, the Seated Liberty dollar's production was ceased. The Morgan silver dollar became the first standard silver dollar minted since the Seated Liberty. It earned the name, Morgan, in honor of the English United States Mint engraver, George T. Morgan. Morgan was responsible for other designs too, such as the Columbian Exposition half dollar. Your 1894 Morgan has been deemed an almost uncirculated coin and will be shipped in a plastic coin flip for extra protection. All almost uncirculated coins will contain bag marks or surface abrasions and three quarters of the original luster is still present.
