George T. Morgan was born to be an engraver and an engraver he was. His resume of engraving started early in England, where he was trained to engrave coins. Taking a big professional step to the West, Morgan moved to the US and became an assistant engraver for 30 years before he was announced the Chief Engraver for the United States Mint.
