  • Description:

The Mexico 50 Pesos Gold 1926 UNC has a mintage of 600,000 and is in uncirculated condition. The Mexico 50 pesos gold coin was coined in 1921 as hard currency to commemorate the first 100 years (centennial) of the Mexican Independence. Subsequently, in 1931 coinage was discontinued and it was not until 1943 when it started again due to the increasing demand for gold coins prevailing at that time. On the reverse side, the centenario presents one of the national coat of arms used in the past, and on the obverse a woman symbolizes the Winged Victory with the legendary Ixtaccihuatl and Popocateptl volcanoes on the background. The coin has a gold content of 1.205 troy ounces of gold (the entire weight of the coin is 1.33 ounces).
