One of the most interesting tales, of how a young boy became a king, is honored by the Chad 3000 Francs 5 oz. Silver 2016 King Tut. The Scottsdale Mint proudly introduces their Republic of Chad Egyptian Relic Series with the minting of the Chad 3000 Francs 5 oz. Silver 2016 King Tut. King Tut ruled Egypt at the humble age of 10 and became a successful leader until he died when he was 19 years old. His tomb was discovered in 1922 and ever since, historians have been trying to put the pieces together concerning his puzzle of a life. One of the most debated topics, concerning this king, is his death. Due to a hurried paint job, in his tomb, it seems that his burial was rushed, insinuating an assassination. Over time, it appears King Tut suffered a severe leg fracture and developed malaria. His final days weren't recorded so assumptions have run rampant as to exactly how the teenage king passed away.
The Chad 3000 Francs 5 oz. Silver 2016 King Tut contains 5 ounces of .999 pure silver and has a legal tender value of 3,000 Francs; both of which are inscribed on the large coin. The obverse side reveals a historic side portrait of King Tut but that isn't what catches onlookers' attention. A perfect strike combination of an incuse feature and rustic finish provide the illusion of a coin from that famous time period. The coin is also lacking a rim, allowing the illusion one step further. The reverse depicts the Republic of Chad's crest and other coin details such as purity, date, and face value. Only 30,000 of these coins were minted, and are in brilliant uncirculated condition.
