With just two more years to go, the Philadelphia Mint started to greatly decrease its percentage of Peace dollars minted. With the Pittman Act hanging over the US Mint's head, all three mints pitched in to produce the right amount of coins in the right amount of time. The Philadelphia Mint not only produced the majority of the Peace silver dollars, but it was also the first mint to be established in the US. The Founding Fathers desired to place the US on the international commerce map but producing currency was the first step. Other than representing the nation's history, your Certified 1926 Peace silver dollar has a little history of its own. Being a part of a small mintage, compared to previous years, the 1926 Peace dollar is difficult to find in higher Mint State conditions and in gem. Your coin has earned a MS65 grade by the highly reputable PCGS grading company.
