The Certified Morgan Silver Dollar 1898 MS65 PCGS is in BU condition and comes encased in an official PCGS holder. As the Morgan silver dollar was being minted, other historical events were happening that have affected us today. Annie Oakley fought for female military power, in case the US declared war with Spain. The Hawaiian Islands were annexed by the US and the USS Maine was attacked and sunk by a mine, thus starting a war. Morgan collectors enjoy the beauty of the coin, but they also enjoy having historical events to connect to these very old coins. The 1898 Morgan silver dollar was minted at the Philadelphia mint and thus, does not carry a mint mark. The Philadelphia Mint was the first mint to be established in the US and is still in production today, although the original building as been long gone.
