The Certified Morgan Silver Dollar 1893-S F15 PCGS has earned a grade that lands on the middle of the Fine Grading Scale and comes encased in an official PCGS holder, The Certified Morgan Silver Dollar 1893-S F15 PCGS is one of only 100,000 minted in 1893, by the San Francisco Mint. Due to the law that prohibited the US Mint from purchasing more silver, from 1893-1895, the Morgans minted during those years carry some of the lowest mintages in the series. In 1893, it came to the government's attention that over $10 million dollars worth of Morgans were just sitting in the US Treasury and reserve banks all over the country. Since the US Mint was producing more Morgans than the country was actually using in circulation, the government put a hold on purchasing more silver.
