Often times, the creator of something receives less accolades than the product they created. This is the case with George T. Morgan, was the English engraver who designed the famous Morgan silver dollar design. He was hired as the assistant engraver to the chief engraver, William Barber, at the US Mint. Morgan worked at the mint for almost 40 years before earning the position of chief engraver when Barber died. Since the Morgan contains 90% silver, the government had to reach into their silver reserves and reauthorize the minting of the Morgans for completion. Because of the lack of silver, the Morgan's production had to stop in 1904. The Certified Morgan Silver Dollar 1887 MS63 PCGS was minted in Philadelphia and has received the ideal grade MS63 by PCGS. MS63 is a solid grade for any Morgan, since the quality of storage of Morgans was poor for decades.
