There are a few reasons why Morgans that carry the coveted "CC" mint-mark are of such high value. Only 1.1 million of these coins were minted in 1882, making them a top priority for any collector! Any Morgan with the "CC" mint-mark is naturally part of a lower mintage. This low mintage was due to the Carson City US Mint sector was being so small, it could only mint so many coins at once.
