Any Morgan silver dollar collector knows that any coin minted at the Carson City Mint is a valuable coin in any collection. But the 1878-CC Morgan was the first to ever be minted at the humble Nevada based mint and is a very popular coin. The Morgan silver dollar was first minted in 1878, after the Coinage Act of 1873 that ceased production of an earlier dollar, the Seated Liberty. Morgans were minted at several US Mint sectors including Carson City, Philadelphia, San Francisco, and New Orleans. Sometimes, depending on the place of mintage, the Morgan's value can be positively affected. George T. Morgan was the English engraver who designed the Morgan silver dollar. Lady Liberty's face is present on the obverse and a large eagle with outstretched wings are featured on the reverse. Your 1878-CC Morgan comes in a plastic holder, complete with a MS63 grade by NGC.
