The panda design on the 2011 Chinese Silver Panda is of two pandas: mother and her cub. The two are both standing on all fours, looking intently into each other's eyes. Their beloved food, bamboo, is detailed in the background since that food source is what pandas literally live off of. The coin's legal tender is etched into the coin, along with the coin's authenticity and weight. The obverse includes an inscription in Chinese symbols, "The People's Republic of China," and the coin's year of mintage. The Temple of Heaven is intricately drawn on the obverse since it is an icon to Chinese tradition and religion.
