Carson City Morgan Silver Dollar 1885-CC GSA MS64 NGC

Considered an original GSA Morgan from the 1960's, this Morgan is a prime target for any avid coin collector. Officially called the "government hoard," the government locked down on the exchange of silver certificates for silver dollars and in doing so, recovered 3 million Morgans just sitting in bags. These bags were sorted by condition and mint-mark, with only 125,000 containing a mint-mark that wasn't "CC." Only 268,000 Carson City Morgans were minted in 1885 and that mintage didn't increase after more were discovered. Since all of the uncirculated Morgans were placed into GSA holders, most have been removed throughout the years. Your 1885-CC Morgan is one of the rare gems to still be in its original GSA holder and has also been certified by NGC.
