When the Morgan silver dollar was first minted every year, a new die was designed with the new year. The first few hundred Morgans to be minted would carry a richer, more proof-like finish than the brilliant uncirculated coins minted later down the line. These first few Morgans are hard to find so it's always best to invest in ones that are certified for authentication purposes. In the mid 1960's, a government hoard took place, recovering 3 million Morgans from sealed mint bags. Out of the 3 million, only 125,000 were from mints other than the Carson City Mint. All of the BU Morgans were kindly placed into GSA packaging, which consisted of a black label in a clear holder. Nowadays, it is harder to find original GSA packaged Morgans, since most have been removed to be sold separately. Your 1884-CC Morgan contains "proof-like" qualities and has earned the grade of MS63, by NGC. It is also packaged in its original GSA packaging, like the picture shows.
