The Queen is accompanied by the coin's place of mintage, "Australia," and the coin's denomination, "one dollar."
-Reverse: The 2012 silver Koala depicts a small koala, snugly clutching a tree trunk. This sweet koala pictured looks like it's about to take a well-deserved nap, after a hearty lunch. One can learn so much about the koala in this picture, including its amazingly craft claws, that spread wide for a perfect grip. Encircling this precious koala are the words, "Australian Koala," and "2012 one ounce .999 silver." There is also a "P" carefully written next to the koala; this is the mint mark of the Perth Mint.
