The 2017 reverse design of the silver Kangaroo catches the eye of any collector interested in fabulous detail and workmanship. This coin has a matte finish while the kangaroo has proof-like qualities. "1 ounce fine silver" is written to the left hand side of the kangaroo and "one dollar" is shown at the bottom of the coin since its legal tender value is one dollar. The obverse contains a young and vibrant Queen Elizabeth II, a side view many artists have tried to create to get their names noticed. This particular portrait was designed by a sculptor named, Raphael Maklouf, who aspired to keep the Queen youthful. Her Majesty is wearing an elegant crown on her head, with a slight smirk on her lips. Along with her name, "Australia", and "2017" are also inscribed around her to show where the coin was minted and which year it was minted in.
The Royal Australian Mint began the silver Kangaroo series in 1993, to kick-start a bullion coin collection that was the equivalent of legal tender. This alludes to higher numismatic value among coin collectors, who fervently search for every year to fulfill their compilation. These silver coins are one troy ounce of pure silver, in brilliant uncirculated condition, and come in a mint sealed capsule for protection.
