The 2014-S Shenandoah (VA) Uncirculated Quarter celebrates an East Coast treasure. The Shenandoah National Park encircles the Blue Ridge Mountains in Virginia. It was designated a park in 1926, when farmland was the majority of the park. Unfortunately, most people living in the counties close by had to vacate their homes for the park. There are still remnants of old farm homes throughout the park, even though 40% is declared wilderness. Many venture to this park for its scenery, hiking, and variety in wildlife.
