The 2013-P Fort McHenry (MD) Uncirculated Quarter showcases a very important landmark for the US. Fort McHenry is one of the most historical landmarks in US history. Being a small fort in Baltimore, Maryland, this fort became famous after the War of 1812, wherein the British attacked the US Navy. During the battle, a local lawyer, Francis Scott Key, was aboard a British ship discussing a negotiation for American prisoners to be released. Key wasn't allowed back to the fort so instead had to watch the Americans get bombarded by the British fleet. In the early morning, although it was in shreds, Key noticed the American flag was still hanging amidst the battle smoke. It was that infamous moment that led to our country receiving what would be a timeless national Anthem.
