The US was pleasantly surprised when the first pure silver dollar was released in 1986. The public hadn't seen a successful dollar following since the 1935 Peace Dollar and the Silver Eagle was going to cost more. Like the US, most countries have their own silver dollar that is marked with that country's insignia, historical etchings, and whatever else that is important to that nation. Many countries, the US included, was inspired by the Mexican Silver Libertad, which is Mexico's silver dollar. The American Silver Eagle displays much of the history of the US and is the perfect way to mark a special occasion for loved ones. The US Coat of Arms, the Walking Liberty, and the 13 stars to symbolize the original 13 colonies are just a few reasons why the American Silver Eagle isn't just about the silver but the history that comes along with it.
The 1998 American Silver Eagle Roll accommodates 20 coins that are glimmering with the perfect finish of a brilliant uncirculated coin. Each coin contains one solid ounce of .999 pure silver and are snuggly stacked on one another.

-Obverse: Lady Liberty graces the obverse of every American Silver Eagle and rightfully so! The elegance she carries along with the strength of a warrior is beautifully depicted on this coin. Originally the design for the Walking Liberty half dollar, the Lady Liberty on the American Silver Eagle dollar has been revived to keep the encouragement of liberty and freedom continued for years to come! The famous phrase, "In God We Trust," the word, "Liberty," and the coin's date of mintage.
-Reverse: The reverse displays the national seal, an eagle standing proudly with its wings outstretched. The eagle’s body is covered by a shield and each of its talons are grasping an object. The right talon is clenching an olive branch to represent a peaceful yet powerful nation and the left talon is holding 13 arrows to symbolize the 13 original colonies.
