Coin collecting is serious business and can be at times, daunting and intimidating. It's hard to figure out your motive for starting your collection. Is for for investing purposes? Or is because you enjoy the chase of putting a whole set of coins together? Either way, the Mexican Libertad series is the answer. The Libertads have been gracing collectors' and investors' stash since 1982 and the fact that they come from the oldest mint around doesn't hurt either. The Mexican Mint has been in production since 1535 and is still going strong today. Minting thousands of modern currency, the Mexican Mint decided to begin the Mexican Libertad collection. The collection is continued every year, featuring a new coin for gold and silver. These coins are guaranteed to be .999 fine silver and are in brilliant uncirculated condition. Due to the varying mintage years, collectors have found some years are more difficult to find than others. The Mexican Libertad series satisfies all the collector's needs along with assuring them the product they are receiving is truly pure and authentic.
To catch your attention, the half-dress winged Victoria is present on the obverse side of the Libertad. She is regal and powerful, standing on one foot with her arms reaching out. She gives the impression her presence is only momentary and she can vanish at any moment. Victory isn't just something you win but you also have to maintain it. In the far out landscape, two active volcanoes stand tall over the land. They are known as Popocatépetl and Iztaccihuatl and they are a big part of the Mexican folklore. To assure the collector, the Mexican Mint kindly wrote, "1 onza plata pura ley .999," to prove the coin's purity. The Mexican Mint also placed their mark, "MO," on the obverse to prove where the coin was minted. Mexico's Coat of Arms is featured on the back of the coin, as a head nod to the past and the hardships the country has endured.
