In the early to mid 1800's, many banks, companies, merchants, and jurisdictions (states, counties, cities, and towns) issued their own currency. These notes are now obsolete but have considerable historical and collector value. Most obsolete currency sports beautiful designs, vignettes, and colors, and has a strong collector base!
