Perth Mint Gold Bars
The Perth Mint has been refining gold since 1899 and is Australia's official mint. One of three major mints in Australia, the Perth Mint has outlived the mints in both Sydney and Melbourne. The Perth Mint is currently the only operational mint in Australia. In 1957, the Perth Mint achieved producing a 13 troy ounce gold bar containing .999999 pure gold! This caught the attention of the Royal Mint and soon became the benchmark for much gold refining today.
Weight Options and Design
Similar to PAMP Suisse products, the Perth Mint also offers a variety of sizes for investors to choose from. Ranging from 1 gram to 100 grams, the Perth Bars contain the same design. On the front, of the Perth Mint Gold Bars, displays this mint's logo of a swan accompanied by the bar's weight/purity. The back contains even rows of active kangaroos. The design is simple yet still pays homage to the incredible wildlife Australia as to offer.
Perth Mint's Gold Bars are considered to be minted ingots, wherein they are sealed in tamper resistant packaging and an assay card for verification purposes. The fabrication of these bars is a more complicated process and resulting in a much more refined product. Large cast bars are fed into a stamping press that is digitally maneuvered and will cut the bars into the size/weight that is programmed. This technique lends to the minted ingots' smooth surface and well-defined edges.
